I can’t speak to the fine folks in Houston, but I think you’re way off base thinking it’s only Fox News watching demographic going out partying and not taking this seriously.
Before the city of San Diego shut down the bars on Monday many were going around like it was nothing. There’s a very large Facebook group here at the beach where there’s countless bars, and a young population. Those who didn’t care about the severity of this (they did, but it wasn’t gonna effect their life) were mostly young Democrats/Liberals. This was painfully obvious when I clicked on their profiles to see who could be such an ignoramus and so flippant about it.
I’m not saying you aren’t surrounded by those saying it’s a liberal conspiracy, I’m sure you are, but don’t think for a second it’s only them packing the bars. Also it might be more packed than a usual Tuesday today because it’s St. Patty’s Day.
Same story here in South Florida. It seemed like the vast majority of people were ignoring instructions to self isolate, including the elderly. The only reason people are staying home now is because so many establishments have closed.
This whole ordeal should really help a lot of us understand just how much excess we can live without.
The city of Providence-RI is monitoring its restaurants and bars and citing them if they are found not in compliance with the new virus rules. They could lose their licenses to operate in the future.
Don't know if somebody posted already... a bar in Cincinnati got busted for staying open after getting ordered to shut down, and got boarded up by police.
I wouldn't be surprised to find out, especially in larger cities, underground bars continuing to operate.

Thank goodness they closed the beaches in FL, quite a few partying morons ruined it for everyone.

Boston, Florida, New York City, New Jersey, Illinois, California, Washington all I know of.
SF Under lockdown I heard.
Buffalo's bars/all of New York State's bars closed Monday night at 8 on governor's order. I planned on being at the Niagara Falls casino at the moment of shutdown but it was depressingly dead when I arrived at five so I bid my farewell to the poker room security guard and took my leave.
Pennsylvania bars and restaurants have been on a governor ordered shutdown for a week now with enforcement and there hasn't been any reports that anyone is violating it.
Restaurants and pubs are having all kinds of deals/free delivery around here now to encourage people to order from them.

Yep, I realized that I use too much toilet paper. For real! LOL
All bars and restaurants and gyms closed (other than take out food and beverages) in Texas as of this past Friday. Here in NE Texas, people are abiding by that as far as I can tell, though I admit I haven't been out much and I never go to bars anyway, so there's that.
But my son is a bartender in Austin and they shut down the other day, All kinds of layoffs in the bar and restaurant businesses.
