Long beach to Los Angeles - NO
Oakland to San Francisco - SLIGHT NO
St. Paul to Minneapolis - NO
Baltimore to DC - NO
Fort Worth to Dallas - NO
Bellevue to Seattle - YES
Colorado Springs to Denver - DEFINITELY NO
Newark to New York City - SLIGHT NO

Good on you for avoiding mention of the big fireworks starter: Is San Jose a suburb of San Francisco?

If the term is bedroom community, then the answer is:
Long Beach - YES
Oakland - NO
Saint Paul - NO
Baltimore - NO
Fort Worth - NO
Bellevue - NO
Colorado Springs - NO
Newark - NO

Of these, only Long Beach has lower daytime population than nighttime population.

Bellevue is for sure. It's population in 1960 was 12,000. You may be able to say Long Beach is a suburb of LA, but that could go either way. The rest all cities with histories not exclusive to their nearby larger city.
