Hello
Me and my husband lives in Orlando, Fl for 18 month now we works for luxury hotels, but unfortunately my husband couldn’t find a job easily here he is a server we thought here it’s the best job and tip pool for tourism but it’s not like that at all. he spent 7 months unemployed.
We looking to move again, but we need your help where can we find server and barista job easily we prefer luxury hotels we have 6 years experience in hotels.
We looking for a place where we can establish a secure, stable life
We looking forward to have a college degree in the future and to make a family
Need your suggestions please and let me know why you suggested such a place.
Thank you so much
Your help is highly appreciated.
You might want to look at states where tipped employees make the full minimum wage rather than the ridiculous tip credit minimum wage. That would be Alaska, California, Minnesota, Montana, Nevada, Oregon and Washington. I work in the restaurant industry as a chef in Minneapolis. I can tell you that good servers here generally make around $30 an hour between tips and wages in normal times. Usually the summer is busier than the winter. Right now all the restaurants are closed, it is hard to say what it will be like when they reopen.
Philadelphia or Chicago might be good. Both are relatively affordable and both have a good selection of luxury hotels.
You could also consider rural areas that have luxury resorts, if you don't mind driving. Places like the Berkshires in Massachusetts, parts of Vermont, the Saratoga area of upstate NY, and maybe some of the ski towns out west like in Colorado. Most of these places will have seasonal highs and lows, but I know the Berkshires can be popular all year with New Yorkers escaping the city in summer, leaf peepers in fall, skiing in winter, and weddings in spring.
But you probably should really play it cautious until there are more certainties with coronavirus.

This and in terms of the highlighted area, you have multiple casinos that can be considered.
Some are Native American owned like Turning Stone(in between Utica and Syracuse), Seneca Niagara(Niagara Falls), Akwasasne(near Massena/Canadian border), Point Place(just NE of Syracuse), Seneca Buffalo Creek(Downtown Buffalo), etc. and some are state owned like DeLago in the Finger Lakes, Rivers Casino in Schenectady, Tioga Downs in between Binghamton and Elmira and there is also the Resort World Casino in Monticello. So, that is something else to consider.
Orlando is a rough place due to the high rent people face living here on salaries many can't get by on. Having been in the hotel-restaurant business for many years prior I would recommend cities where your housing cost isn't very expensive versus expected earnings. By and large waiters/bartenders in nicer restaurants or hotels make about the same in the rest of the US, so it's really more about controlling your monthly expenses. I would suggest cities like Chicago, Philadelphia, Baltimore, Dallas, Denver or Seattle all of which have a lot of business dining/conferences/conventions as well as active dining scenes overall not reliant on tourism.
