Thank you all for your wonderful suggestions! I would LOVE to recommended Ashville to them but I recently vacationed there and saw how pricey it is. A pity too because I think they would LOVE it.
I have heard of Cookville..I will mention it to them as well as the other places you mentioned. I know they were considering Georgia so Athens is a good one. I also know they like mountains and Cookville maybe a great place if it is as affordable as people on here say. Good to know!
I'd second the Winston Salem, NC suggestions. I'd add Memphis to the list (UT health is there and a ton of medical stuff), Memphis is a little pricier in the nicer areas. OKC could be a good fit as well as Tulsa. Maybe take a look at Little Rock or Jackson, MS. Albuquerque could potentially be an option as well.
All these locations should be cheaper and offer decent healthcare options.
Or try finding a minor city in Texas, such as Longview or Waco. The cost of living index in Waco is only 77.
