Louisville and Salt Lake City have pretty impressive skate cultures and a lot of people may not think of those two cities. Cleveland has a well-known HC scene so I imagine it would have a pretty good skate culture.
I'm a little too old to be skateboarding, but this recent video was filmed in the Cleveland area. So yes, I guess Cleveland is very much a skateboarding city
Baltimore may be on it's way to becoming a "skateboard city". There are two skate parks within city limits that I know of, one in Hampden and one in the Canton/Highlandtown area which I think is indoors.
There is another one currently under construction at the Inner Harbor as part of the rash field redevelopment. I see it becoming very popular since it's in a touristy area. It should be opening before the end of the year.
Edit: There are actually 3 skateparks in the city, the third being in Carroll park. So the one under construction will be the fourth.

I commute with my skateboard, so I took advantage of bike lanes. Bike lanes are generally well-maintained and are some of the safest routes to take when traversing busy cities and streets. These lanes are isolated from traffic so I don’t have to worry about running into cars or pedestrians.
Lived in STL for some time and never really found that many people who skate, and STL doesn't have a single skatepark near the city center I can think of besides that indoor one you had to pay for, always got kicked out of stair sets super quick downtown, my favorite spot tho was the ledges at the old court house, , so fun,, and that building just looks so intimidating too haha or that one upward slant ledge by the edward jones dome or whatever its called now was a good spot
idk if youd call STL as having a great skate culture tho
was cool to unexpectedly stumble upon the spot under kings highway one day randomly skating through the city,
feels super sketchy when your the only one there tho, like your about to get jumped any second, your essentially trapped under a bridge and the only way out is up the hills on either side through the dead end streets
I would say Chicago is pretty sweet for skating with the huge park right downtown and all the street spots in the city
You’re wrong about that- there’s a very popular public skate park in the Bevo Mill neighborhood in the city of St. Louis, as well as St. Liborius, an abandoned church-turned-skate park. Tony Hawk visited both: https://www.thestlouisegotist.com/ne...-you-a-strong/
I'll sometimes drive around or hitch a ride and discover . Getting info on the best skating places near me and skateboard parks in nyc is by looking up skateboarding groups and communities online. I even receive updates about skateboard competitions near me!
I would think Cincinnati and Pittsburgh would be pretty good with all the hills and empty factories/lots.
