Most impressive and/or awe inspiring East Coast Mountains.

Not the highest or most prominent - but the most visually impressive?

My picks:

Mount Washington (NH)

While maybe not as impressive as their younger cousins in the West, I think these are pretty rugged examples of east coast mountains. Certainly not “hills” as some people condescendingly refer to them.

In my opinion

The Whites are the most impressive mountains

The Adirondacks are the most imposing wilderness

The Smokies are the best (summer) Vacation destination

Overall I do find the northern mountains more impressive than the ones In NC and TN. Despite the fact that the latter are taller. The NH mountains actually resemble mountains

Mt. Leconte towers over East Tennessee and can be seen from much of the region. It is very prominent. A few years back I climbed the mountain and was seriously impressed with its beauty and ruggedness. It was a great experience.

I have never seen Mt Washington or the Presidential range up north but I have heard it is just as impressive. Would love to see it.

Are you actually serious here? What do the even taller mountains of the South resemble then?

That's funny because I thought the Blue Ridges resembled "real mountains" because of their jagged appearance.
