Jacksonville is a city with some great skyline shots. From the Dames Point Bridge on 295 (about 7 miles or so):

From the Buckman Bridge (about 9.5 miles)

I’ve personally seen the skyscrapers from the Omni at Amelia Island on the top floor, about 20 miles away. You can even see the airport from the top floor, about 14-15 miles out on a clear night.

Right by Walmart, near the High Plain St. intersection. It’s visible from a lot of the Gillette lots and some parts of the stadium in nearby Foxboro too. But not on street view.

The long distance view that we were able to see the most often, though, was from South Mountain SP, about 55 miles away.

Of course, the creative challenge of this thread is to find a view that shows up on Google Maps, so I'm still searching for mountain views of CLT that show up there....I'll post one if I find one!

Anyway, I found this article about Western NC views of the city- thought you may find it interesting: https://www.gastongazette.com/news/2...elusive-target
Excellent article! Thanks. Yeah, I tried to find some Google views, but couldn't find any myself that were any good. Wow, you mentioned some great vantage points that I'm going to have to check out.

I got a good straight shot one of New Orleans from the I-10 bridge over Lake Pontchartrain near Slidell—23 miles out from downtown...

I got another one from the Causeway coming from Mandeville. A little blurry, but you can see the city to the left looking back from the northbound lanes. That one is 21 miles out from the city center.

Here’s an interesting shot from the Dumbarton Bridge over San Francisco Bay, where you can see SF at 25 miles out, as well as Oakland (~22 mi out) and San Jose at ~17 miles.

You can see the Downtown Miami skyline from the Lehman Causeway in Aventura 20 miles away. It's barely visible on streetview but in real life it's easy to see
https://goo.gl/maps/2txBfvu3uwRTZE2h7

Here's one from the 826/I-75 interchange. Probably about 17-18 miles away as the crow flies.

Miami's skyline is visible from very far away if you have any kind of elevation

You can see the downtown Richmond, VA skyline from approximately 8.5 miles away high up on the Pocahontas Parkway Interchange crossing over the James River.
