Based on your list, I'd be checking out Charleston before Myrtle. In fact, Charleston hits all your marks including the whole single young professional scene.

The pros are:
Fast growing
Extremely affordable ocean city
Proximity to Charleston and savannah
Golfing if you are in to that

Cons:
Touristy/highly seasonal
Blue collar - not necessarily bad, but it's working class. white collar vacations to hilton head

But you could easily rent an oceanfront condo for $2k/month

i was trying to look up more about charleston & their job market, it doesn't seem like real estate is a strong career to get into there?

I'm more on the development side of real estate, I can tell you we see Charleston as a hot market right now for commercial development, but I can't really answer your question about what it would be like trying to break-in as a broker on the single family side if that is what you are looking to do. You might try posting this in the Charleston subforum as well for some insights.
