As the south urbanized/more wealthy it’s subsidy decreases. Like Texas fliped from a recipient to a Doner recent

There is all the FEMA money too. Some still might get FEMA insurance. Tesla got 10s of millions from the Feds in its plans to build a new plant outside of Austin..... Like it is needed.

Then I was asked if it was just Federal money allocated for Texas anyway? Well it was titled FEDERAL MONEY and a local school District that amounted to $60 mil. Would they be getting that to move to the Rust-Belt city that can truly use it without having migrations to support it?

Still our Sunbelt cities also have something in common. The SCOURGE of a LABEL of SEVERE WINTERS. Even Lake Effect snows that add to it. We still have the deep South up Appalachia states getting Federal funds move then its Northern Parts.

Eventually the migrations will slow. Cost rising though rural areas still will be cheapest as always. Companies still fear UNIONIZATION if up North. Right to Work states kill that possibility as its key aim as none can be then forced into a Union if it grows a force. So it is winning. Still it is rare for anything new to go union up North. Unions are not for more Professional skilled people. Teachers, Nurses and the Trades anyway. Union Grocery stores are moot even where my first job decades ago was. Already then they were being weakened and broken with all new help only Part-Time and no more benefits as part-time back then.

It’s kind of sad seeing what is happening to Chicago. It’s such an iconic and interesting place. I personally couldn’t do with the crime and cold but outside of that it hits extremely hard in the urbanity / affordability area.
Chicago's crime is exaggerated greatly. Its above average but you wont get shot just walking on the street, or at all. The cold is only in November-March really. They have beautiful summers there.
