I can only speak for areas I know :
Northeastern New Jersey smells like Chemical plants (just nasty)
Miami when the sea breeze is right you can smell the Ocean air miles inland.
Jacksonville near downtown had a funny smell to it also which I think was due to paper mills?

Buffalo smells like Cheerios, if you like Cheerios.

Odd choice perhaps but I have the clearest memory of Saugatuck MI many years ago on my first visit. The combination of the breezes off Lake Michigan and evergreens in the yard of the B&B we stayed in was something I could get used to.

It sounds nice, but I don’t think I’ve ever smelled Cheerios in Buffalo.

I know it doesn't smell this way year-round, but I was very impressed with northern Nevada last time I passed through. Everything smelled of sagebrush.

Last time I got off a plane in Orlando, I wrinkled my nose.

The air is pretty good in Vermont. Smells like plants, maybe a hint of wood smoke in winter.

I lived in Concord, NC (northeastern suburb of Charlotte) back in the 2000's. There is a coffee processing plant there (S&D Coffee). When you go through that area of town, it smells heavenly!

Kiawah Island, SC has the best smelling ocean breezes I've ever experienced anywhere in the nation. It's like you're in another World.

When I lived in Cape Cod, MA I would go to Hyannis a lot for personal business and shopping. The Cape Cod Potato Chip factory was there. Especially on a breezy day, if you were anywhere between Cape Cod Mall and Hwy. 6, the fresh fried chip aroma smelled so good.

Downtown Yakima, WA can have a citrus-like smell, which comes from the hops at a local brewery.
