When are we going to stop talking about the Millennials? The oldest of them are turning 40 in 2021. Isn't it about time we started thinking of the next generation? The Millennials have had a pretty good run this Century.

Lists are generally designed for clicks. You get more clicks with surprising results, and covering a lot of regions. List-makers make this happen by using different criteria from other lists.

So is "best" where the most people go? Or is it where they go if they have money? Or some set of economic criteria, generally convenient stuff vs. anything sensible? Or what they list as their top three cities? Or what they don't have negative opinions of?

I'm sure someone has come out with a list of the most hated people in the US, and someone else has come out with the most loved. I suspect the same person would "win" both. It's the same principle in action.

LOL!!! to the bolded.

Us millennials haven't even reached middle aged and you're already trying to bury us.

It's just like how the Boomers were treated relative to Gen X. Boomers got all of the attention simply because they were a much larger generation. With Millennials essentially being just as large as the Boomers, I suspect Gen Z will get the same treatment as Gen X.

It's just that everything has been Millennial this and Millennial that for 20 years already. Before that, and before they were even called Millennials, they were the "baby on board" sign and the "My child's an honor student" bumper sticker generation. Enough already.

Millennial Home Ownership Percentage and Percent Of Millennials Living In Poverty would kind of speak to cost of living if one gave that a thought for a moment, and ethnic population means squat in most instances.

No it doesn't. Ethnicity means a different circumstances from place to place .

Totally can see NC being that high ranked. Generally only well off people or people retiring move here from somewhere up north. The job market is miserable if you’re not “skilled” or if you don’t know someone with an “in”.

And the youngest millennials are turning 24 in 2021 and are graduating college last year or this year. It's still relevant to talk about them.

I remember watching a tv special on kindergartners who would one day be the “class of 2000”. This was sometime back in the late 1980s. Even then there was an obsession with this generation and the show engaged in all type of speculation on what this generation would be like. Because of the generations size it has a lot of influence (like their boomer parents) For this reason they are studied and obsessed over. Yes a lot of us are getting tired of it.

As for the OPs question, a smart millennial would look for a place with a decent economic outlook AND a low cost of living. The Midwest is full of places like this. A bad place for a millennial would be an expensive trendy place that will suck your bank account dry.
