Could be a city, metro area, town, county, or even a small region of a state. No silly debates on what's a "suburb", "city", etc. Give reasons if you'd like. Even if it's a state you wouldn't want to live, where would you choose if you had to?

For me:

NC - Charlotte metro (I live here and love it)

SC - Greenville/Spartanburg (I would actually pick one of Charlotte's SC suburbs, but since I already picked Charlotte metro AND already live in the Charlotte area, I wanted to pick a different area. I absolutely love the GSP area. VERY hard choice between GSP and Charleston. Both have their own special vibes and very friendly people. Charleston, more to do recreationally, incredible food, and some of my favorite beaches in the nation. GSP, more of a 4-season climate, better buying power, better overall economy, and great location between Atlanta/Charlotte/Asheville. GSP wins by a nose)

GA - Atlanta metro

FL - Lakeland (I love its location between Tampa Bay and Orlando)

AL - Huntsville

MS - Desoto County (Memphis' metro)

LA - New Orleans metro

TX - Dallas/Ft. Worth metro

AR- Fayetteville/Springdale metro

TN - Nashville metro

KY - Northern KY (Cincinnati suburbs)

VA - Roanoke

WV - Charleston

MD - Prince George's County (Nice, relatively affordable DC suburb)

DE - New Castle County (Philly suburb)

PA - Pittsburgh

NJ - Warren County (Allentown/Bethlehem suburb)

NY - Buffalo metro

CT - Harford metro

RI - Providence metro

MA - Plymouth County (The most affordable area around Boston. Lived there part time 2017-2019. Liked its coastal location and access to the Cape)

NH - Manchester/Nashua metro

VT - Burlington metro

ME - Portland metro

MI - Grand Rapids metro

OH - Cincinnati metro

IN - Dearborn County (Cincy suburb)

IL - Chicago metro

WI - Madison

MN - Duluth

ND - Fargo

SD - Sioux Falls

IA - Cedar Falls/Iowa City area

NE - Omaha metro

MO - Kansas City metro

KS - Johnson County (KC metro)

OK - Oklahoma City metro

NM - Albuquerque metro

AZ - Phoenix metro

NV - Las Vegas metro

CO - Colorado Springs

WY - Cheyenne

UT - Salt Lake City metro

ID - Boise metro

MT - Great Falls

WA - Spokane metro

OR - Bend

I'm curious why you picked Buffalo for NY. There are way better areas ...

"Better" is highly relative to each person. The rural/small town areas are just beautiful, but I really wouldn't want to live in an area so sparsely populated. I don't want to be anywhere near NYC. Of the other NY metros, Buffalo is my favorite. A lot of people from Buffalo have migrated here to the Charlotte area and they are incredibly nice, down-to-Earth and assimilate very well. When I've visited there, I've enjoyed it. There are some good places in the metro that I saw. A good bit to do for its size. Friendly residents. Affordable.
