Leamington, Ontario, calls itself "The Banana Belt". They actually grow vegetables there that cannot be grown anywhere else in Canada, and HJ Hienz has their Canadian facilities there.

Kokomo. Indiana, is one of the Beach Boys' surfing titles.

There’s also Port Dover, Ontario where palm trees grow... err... are planted seasonally on the Sandy beaches of Lake Erie.

There’s a former hotel (now a drug rehab facility) outside of Youngstown that always sticks out to me from the highway because it’s got dozens of fake palm trees outside of it.

The Beach Boys "Kokomo" is not about Kokomo, Indiana. I doubt the Beach Boys ever heard of Kokomo, Indiana before they recorded that song.
