Kearney, NE has 2 hospitals, 332 hospital beds and just over 30,000 people.

Even more interesting is that it's part the tri-cities and the other two small cities in close proximity have their own hospitals also.

Iowa City has two hospitals and 973 hospital beds and around 75,000 people

Seems like Eau Claire might have three hospitals for a population of just 68,000

Bangor Maine has 2 hospitals and a population just over 33,000.

Newark, DE (pop. 33,448) has a hospital with 1166 beds.

What about suburbs? AdventHealth Orlando Hospital in Altamonte Springs, Florida (pop. 43,810) has 2247 beds and is one of the largest hospitals in the country.

That's not even close to accurate. The 2247 beds quoted is for AdventHealth system-wide in Florida and includes a number of hospitals. Advent Altamonte has 398 beds. AdventHealth Orlando which is the flagship hospital for Advent in FL has 1368 beds. Jackson Memorial in Miami has 1700 beds and is the largest in FL

Johnson City TN (population 66K) has four hospitals with Johnson City Medical Center, James Quillen VA Hospital, Niswonger Childrens Hospital and Franklin Woods Community Hospital.
