The numbers aren't meaningful. What you need is a per square foot breakdown. For single family homes, you also need to break out the value of the land. Atherton is expensive because it's large lots next to Palo Alto.

I think number of units is a bigger caveat. Like the reason the Boston Zip is #2 because the only residences are in the Dalton Tower.

I disgree. I think this when looking at the country as whole, its consistently representative. I work in commercial lending, including home construction financing, looking thousands of appraisals.. For at least two generations, the big pacific and Atlantic coastal markets consistently have been more expensive than homes in the interior
