"I" and "F", huh? "If"? If only North Carolina was anything like California...

Agree. I lived in NC (Charlotte) and loved it and have had extensive stays in California for years (love the state as well). Aside from both states having mountains and coastal areas (which are vastly different), the two states are not alike at all, in my opinion.

Growing up in California, this comparison to me is ridiculous, and quite a stretch. The culture, politics, weather, attitude, etc. is nothing like California. North Caroiina is the South, California is not. Paint the barn any color you want, it is still a barn at the end.

Both places have barns. One is housed with domesticated animals the other with fruits and nuts.

Still barns

Me either but they are right on with some of the comparisons between AZ and NC.

My mom moved from NC to Orange County CA in the mid-70s. She said it was like a different world. Her first day in high school, she had a teacher yelling at her and she had no idea what she had done and was near tears. She finally figured out he thought she was mocking him when she answered everything with “sir” attached at the end. Other students would quiz her on whether she knew Gomer or Aunt Bea, lol.

So needless to say, the divide is not as great as it probably once was. But it’s still rather large all things considered,

Lol no way.

It’s similar to Georgia or South Carolina. Nothing about NC says CA.
