Got it. Seems to track from my observations. Baltimore County is more families I guess and Howard County, I would guess most are in Columbia or Laurel?

Baltimore county is mostly families for sure, many with deep connections in Baltimore. I was told places like Owings Mills and Resitertown were it back in the 80s/90s but now anyone moving there is late or ‘ghetto’. My huge issue with Baltimore is having to be in the super dead downtown or 35 minutes out in Howard County, maybe even Harford County. Just to live in a bland post war brick slab garden apartment or townhome. Not for me. I could stay in Highlandtown indefinitely but it’s basically overwhelmingly Central American and not really on the up at this point. Good amount of crime and much rats/roaches (like you see dead rats and their oldies out in the streets- even in nicer parts, you also can see roaches lowkey swarming in front of some peoples homes).

Folks are in Columbia and Laurel and western Bmore County. Idk where else exactly, I think like Hanover.

I know some folks over there but I haven't been to Baltimore County like that. I thought western Baltimore county was where the black middle class of Baltimore was? What about places like Randallstown?

Randallstown is south of there. You're right about Western Baltimore County MOst black are inside the beltway btw. Baltimore County is like 50% white 30% black but blacker to the west/northwest and the immediate east and southeast. Randallstown is 80% black.

Got it. Some plans changed for me and I may be looking to move by the end of this. Baltimore is an option so i'm doing more research on it now.

You should move into the city of Baltimore. Are you looking into any neighborhoods in the city?

My s/o lives in DT Baltimore so I'm only familiar with Downtown and the neighborhoods around the Harbor (Federal Hill, Fells Point etc.). I need to get into DC a few times a month so I'd like to be near MARC/highways if I did move to Baltimore.

What kind of neighborhood are you interested in? What is your criteria? Are you renting or buying?
Baltimore has many different neighborhood vibes so I'm sure there is something that meets your criteria in the city. I thought you were considering buying in DC proper? What changed?

New job and some personal circumstances changed for me. My s/o may or may not move in with me also so I'm definitely looking for some more space. I was looking to buy but now i'm postponing that for now. So I'm looking to rent a new place when my current lease expires. I'm either staying in DC or going to Maryland (PG near a Metro station or Baltimore ) or NYC (least likely option but I'd be in Brooklyn). Looking for the best value (price and sq ft, density, access to highways and public transportation).
