Looking to narrow down some areas to search.

Looking for a vacation home with easy access to golf.
Near water is obviously awesome but not a must.
Budget approx $250K and willing to go somewhere off the beaten path to maximize purchasing power.
3bd/2bth is most we would need.
Seasonal rental allowed to help offset the carrying cost.

I'm starting the search in Myrtle Beach, and honestly don't know what my budget gets me there. Hoping I can get some guidance on where else I can look along the east coast. Please let me know if there are other criteria/considerations I should specify.

You might have better luck posting this in the Myrtle Beach sub-forum.

May I ask why you are recommending Fayetteville?
The reason why I ask is, looking at Myrtle Beach, because it's a vacation destination, it looks trying to play golf there almost every day over several months out of the year... it can get expense. I realize golfing does cost $, but wondering if your recommendation for Fayetteville has anything to do with the cost of golfing.

I’m not sure about Fayetteville, but an hour west of there is Pinehurst and a whole slew of courses. Lots of golfing in that whole section of the Sandhills.

Myrtle Beach is great. Some of the inland areas like Conway give you a good bang for your buck, however you also get hotter.

Thank you for this info. But are there any condos in this area that you can also seasonally rent out when not in use? I would think that kind of condos are mostly available in resort communities, which is why I am starting my search in Myrtle Beach. Also how is the weather during Dec-Mar?
