What were the other red light districts of America besides Times Square?
I was watching the Netflix series Crime Scene Times Square Killer. It details the seedy history of Times Square prior to the "Disneyfication". It was a lot of peep shows, sex shows, Broadway Plays, and Prostitution.
Did/does Philly have one? What LV as bad? Where and what was Chicago's called? What about LA, SF? Was Galveston TX like a vice city back when the Maceo Crime Family was around?
In Mexico, a place with a "Motel" sign is usually a place that rents rooms by the hour, and has ladies available. Most motoring Americans discover this by accident.
I don't really consider it a full-on 'red light' district.. but in LA, as Sunset gets close to West Hollywood, used to have open prostitution overnight & in the early morning. There were some strip clubs on that part of Sunset too.
It's where Eddie Murphy got stopped for picking up a prostitute back in the late 90s. Kind of a funny episode, where Murphy claimed the hooker was just hitchhiking..

Maybe a red light district for some? West Hollywood is the gay part of town. And that prostitute Eddie Murphy picked up was a dude.
Not sure I would consider it a “red light district” but Aurora Ave in North Seattle is known for prostitutes and cheap motels. And a couple strip clubs.
