Oh, I know. But half of it is shlock in my opinion...

I'm with a few others that have mentioned New Haven, that's my favorite. Thin crust clam pizza, who knew!

There's a ton of crap touristy pizza places in NYC. But NYC also has the MOST good spots, you really got to do your research. It's not a homerun on every corner THAT is a myth. Trust my I've tried A LOT of them. Pizza Tour is a thing in my life.

For what it's worth, I've vever had pizza in any of those cities, that was good as the routine served by Casey's General Stores, an Iowa-based regional franchise of convenience stores.

My Number One: A carry-out that didn't even have a dining room at the east end of Portsmouth, Ohio.

Number two, St. Mary's, West Virginia, aided by bonus points for allowing young female staff to care for babies at work.

Number 3, Casey's General Store, Philipsburg, Kandsd

There's "Chicago Style" pizza (thick crust, lots of toppings).

Is there a "Detroit Style" of pizza?

There is and it seems to be getting more popular. This past year or two, Pizza Hut started a "Detroit style pizza" and that seems to have only made the style more popular. Even if the execution was off.

Pan pizza aka Detroit Style Pizza has been around forever though. I always liked Domino's version of it. It definitely caught on in popularity around the country this last decade with tons of local pizzeria's selling it.

Little Caesar's definitely throws a wrench in the pizza terminology with it's "Deep Deep Dish" pizza, which is definitely not Chicago Deep Dish pizza, but more similar to Detroit Style Pan Pizza.
