Las Vegas has an abundance of sunshine and scenic outdoor recreational areas (Lake Mead, Red Rock Canyon, etc.) immediately outside the city. For a plethora of reasons, I would definitely recommend visiting there and living in Atlanta (or most metro areas in the US) over the reverse.
Ohio hate is like "a thing" and I don't really understand it.

And I really love Xenia and the Yellow Springs area near Dayton. I think it's a beautiful area.
People love to hate on Ohio because it's the cool thing to do. Plus, some love to judge it based on media, social media, hearsay, jokes, political leanings, preconceived notions or bias. It seems like that some people look Some tend to look down on Ohio to hype up the state they live in. They could be working 3 jobs paying high rent for an apartment in a crappy neighborhood in a state they can barely afford to live in, still have to worry about bills; they say to themselves, "It could be worse, I could be in Ohio" or "At least I don't live in Ohio." I've said it in many posts on CD, it seems like Ohio is America's whipping boy.
Philly: Fabulous Italian food, awesome heart of gold communities in NE. Relatively fantastic public transportation. Reading Terminal Market. Tony MF Bruno (Hes a-spicy!). Better Japanese Festival than DCs commercial s-show.
Spokane, Washington. The nicest thing about it is actually leaving it
The Spokane airport has a big electronic sign in the circular part of the concourse that they show pretty pictures on. Oh, and if you're going between the Alaska Airlines gates and the rental car area, you will get a LOT of walking exercise.
Ohio gets hate, but at least it's not Indiana. Marietta is a nice visit, as is all the covered-bridge coumtry down there. I like going to Reds games, and parking in Kentucky and walking across the bridge.
