Attractive people don't make a place world class, how incredibly shallow.

Money, entertainment, education... you need sections for people to be smart, next to a section for them to go dumb and you need plenty of money for both

The only one for me is Parks and recreation. The rest I prefer to be in another city nearby, not in mine.

Agree cuisine should be an option. I would also argue that history is an important trait.

My general order of most to least important...

1. Cultural institutions: Very important. Otherwise it's anywhere USA.

2. Architecture: Fine and varied architecture is limited in the US, and an important trait of a world class city.

3. Parks and recreation: Close to #2. Very important trait for the QOL experience for residents and visitors.

4. Business/finance: No, it does not matter how many Fortune 500s a city has, but a strong and diverse economy is important.

5. Higher education: Very important, especially in terms of research, and connected to the economy and cultural institutions.

6. Walkability: Unpopular opinion on City Data, but this is important. Some of greatest cities are designed around the pedestrian not the automobile. I am NOT saying a city isn't world class if it isn't walk-able, but it's definitely a negative.

7. Public transportation: Similar to above.

8. Shopping/retail: Convenience and availability of goods is important. Luxury shopping, nice to have, but not a must.

9. Nightlife: Nice to have, but not a must.

10. Entertainment: Basically a tie with above. Nice to have, but not a must.

11. Sports: Meh, a nice extra, but not important.

12. Attractive people: No.

Exactly. That was my first thought.
I would choose Architecture and Cultural Institutions as well.
