That's a different take on the "Big 6."

Put Vegas first because I think it's a little cooler.
Vegas Bakes while Phoenix Broils.

I was born in SF and have spent time in all of the others so this is based on my experience:

1. Toronto
2. San Francisco
3. Washington
4. Los Angeles
5. New York
6. Chicago

For me:
1. NYC
2. LA
3. Chicago
4. San Francisco
5. Toronto
6. DC

Never been to Mexico City but I enjoy going to Cancun and all the all-inclusive resorts.

Mexico City is much more like NYC or London than Cancun.

Actually, Mexico City is quite like NYC, period.

Hmmm, would love to hear your experiences because this is almost an exact inversion from my list (though with NYC at top).

In years past, it would have been NYC by a landslide. But NYC and San Fran in particular have just lost so much character to commercialism.

Los Angeles still has the beach and was always seen as a plastic place anyway, so they've lost less.

But...

1) NYC
2) Los Angeles
3) SF
4) Toronto
5) Chicago
6) Washington

I could easily spend 10 days in NY just checking out neighborhoods and occasionally going into things. The others all in the six-day range at least, including time to pick off a few of the outer centers.
No. Every nation from Panama north and every place in the Caribbean is part of North America. It's a clearly defined continent. Central America is not a continent, nor is it part of South America.
