Snoqualmie Falls in Washington State, the Loudoun County (Virginia) countryside, Grand Canyon, Mammoth Lakes California, Yosemite National Park, Cape Cod/Martha’s Vineyard, California Wine Country (Napa & Sonoma County), Avila Beach (San Luis Obispo County, CA), Cannon Beach OR, Cocoa Beach FL, the Utah desert, Sedona AZ

So many beautiful places in our beautiful country!! Probably many more I’ve forgotten about.

For the purposes of this thread, let’s stick to:
1. Places you’ve actually visited in person.
2. US only (sorry Canada/Mexico)
3. Try to be specific. For example, don’t say New York City, rather say the view from the Empire State Building.

Bonus points for pictures or videos.
Bryce Canyon, Utah. Hands down.

Excellent idea for a thread!

Here are a few of mine (I'm not numbering them, because it's too hard to rank them):

Big Sur Coast
Grand Canyon under moonlight
Molokai sea cliffs viewed from a helicopter
Trail Ridge Road, Rocky Mountain National Park
Damnation Creek Trail, Redwood National Park
Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone, Yellowstone National Park

I just got back from Colorado, I'd say Rocky Mountain National Park was most scenic place I've ever been. Alpine scenry plus great access to elk / moose / bighorn sheep / etc. Estes Park and Georgetown CO had both great small town architecture with mountain scenery. Honestly cities and most towns in CO I was underwhelmed by. Denver is basically Indianapolis by the mountains but very brown and dusty. If you like dry dusty wind hitting you in the face 24/7 it's a wonderful place. CO Springs is more scenic but the actual city isn't any more scenic than most places I've been.

I have a thing for islands and they are among the most beutiful places I've had the pleasure of seeing.

Maui & the Big Island of Hawaii
Newfoundland
Vancouver Island
San Juan Islands, WA
Block Island, RI
Okracoke Island, NC

On the mainland I'd say Alaska, Sedona, AZ and Telluride, CO are the standouts for me.

Timing is everything. Maine Route 9, Bangor to Calais, in the 60s, 90 miles, winding and narrow, possibly zero winter residents over winter. Couple days after goood snowfall, plows had been over it once. One am, crisp, cld and clear, with a brilliant fulll moon. I drove the whole way with headlights switched off, met no other cars. This is something you mus once in your life.
