Home appreciation in the last year, from Q1 2021 to Q1 2022. Florida is dominant in appreciable value. Mid-Atlantic and Midwest bringing up the rear. Overall the highest gainers in addition to Florida cities is the Intermontaine West.
It’s interesting that New York has actually gotten significantly more affordable compared to the country since 2012. Maybe that explains the Census estimate miss.
By the end of the decade people were realizing it’s really not worth it to move to Atlanta or Charlotte or Austin.
Wow, Syracuse actually is the Northeastern area with the highest home appreciation during that period. Interesting…This is considering that home prices are still quite affordable in comparison to most of these areas on the list, including those in the South.
What are these metro designations? Cambridge is separate from Boston? I don’t see Durham at all, but happy for Greensboro and Winston to be breaking the national average.

Very interesting. People on here boast what a highly desirable city Omaha is to live in. Yet, it's only ranked no. 65 for home appreciation.
