Villages in the valleys of the High Peaks of the Adirondacks. More true than for, say, villages in the Green Mountains of Vermont and White Mountains of New Hampshire.

Increasing dew points are a limiting factor in the eastern half of the country. That limits not only how high temperatures can go, but even more how low temperatures can go (and that's where climate change is being ruddered in terms of temperatures). Drier climates support more extremes, but the principle obtains even in, say, Tucson in monsoon season as compared to the spring months where it's hotter because the dew points are lower.

Most of Upstate NY. A few spots in the Adirondacks even dipped into the 30's recently. It even snowed at the top of Whiteface Mt.

Ah, ok. So I went back to 2021, there were ten nights in June with a low 60f or below and in July ten nights with a low of 65f or below. I'll still take it. Beats the heck out of waking up to an 80f slap in the face at 8AM that I've experienced living in other places in the southeast

That is the case. The airport for Saranac Lake, NY is notorious for being one of the colder climate areas in the eastern US. It dropped to 34F the other day.

Overnight between 6/19-6/20, it was in the 30s or low 40s in most of Mass. Even colder in VT, NH, ME. Last night, i.e. the eve of the solstice, it was high 40s to low 50s in all of Mass (45 on the NY border to 51 in the suburbs and 54 at Logan)

And here's the snow on Whiteface on 6/18
