I'm just curious as to what other boarders have to say about Houston as a choice. It'd be the easiest move for me as I'm in Dallas right now and I have family in Houston.
Houston and Dallas are very similar, yet different. Both are large, sprawly, metropolitan areas that are very diverse. Dallas public transportation is better and more widespread vs Houston's. If you like Dallas, chances are you will like Houston. However, Houston is very humid and it rains a lot. Dallas is "hotter", but the humidity in Houston is oppressive. Dallas also sits in tornado alley. But Houston sits in hurricane alley and is prone to widespread flooding.
Overall, Houston is a cheaper city than Dallas. But both cities area quickly increasing in COL.
You need to focus on cities that have corporations moving and building.
Atlanta has many new offices being built that will need infrastructure and even data centers.
Isn't Austin supposed to be good for that? Why do you want to move.
Not sure they have a lot of tech, security and infrastructure needs.
Really not a lot of data processing going on in hockey compared to other industries.
