New York and Montreal are the only two cities in North America that prohibit this practice. /thread

You do realize you are comparing neighborhoods in LA or micro municipalities to a whole county in New York, right? This is not apples to apples. But if you were wondering, there are indeed neighborhoods in Queens denser than Koreatown.

The thing about NYC is that cops hardly ever enforce any traffic laws. So, people get away with driving any way they want.

If you park in the wrong spot, however, you're going to get into trouble.

In the 90's, sure. But today NYC has red light cameras on 24 hours/day, 7 days/week. Cops don't need to give these kind of tickets anymore because the cameras get you.

Sure, but the jerks who are constantly running red lights know where the cameras are.
