Massachusetts 49th for cost of doing business lol. Only Hawaii is worst.
If you are 49th in Cost of doing business, and 26th in the economy I cant really understand how you are 24th for Business overall...especially if they only rank the workforce at 24 and innovation at 10.

It’s #1 for education and #6 for access to capital.
I guess that can offset being 47th for Cost of Living...
When you talk about business friendly in Massachusetts you are talking about businesses of revenues of at least $30M+
Massachusetts is for $$$$$companies who need access to intellectual property in extremely in-demand fields. Just like California and NYC. MA is no different.

It's CNBC i get it- but the majority of the businesses in this country are small businesses. Personally, I'm more interested in that list- I should make a thread for that.

Well thats not really what this list is about. Unless its a startup in the Cambridge area, MA isn't the market for small businesses.
For Indiana, they're #1 in infrastructure and #2 in "Cost of doing business", and ranks high in Economy (#10) and "Business Friendliness" (#18) and is average on "Technology & Innovation" (#23).
Yet they're just not higher b/c their workforce is awful (#48) along with "Inclusion" factor (#43). The former is particularly a big problem as Indiana had long been facing a "brain drain" where people just does not stay in Indiana, especially after college. This is with a top-notch STEM university (Purdue) also...
You can see similar ratings in Ohio actually - top notch universities (i.e. OSU but not just that) but otherwise facing a huge brain drain.
