What streets do you know of with rare designations, i.e. they don't end with St, Ave, Blvd, Pl, Rd, Ct, Dr, Way, Hwy, Pkwy, or any others I'm forgetting?
A few I can think of:
El Camino Real, Silicon Valley --- lit. "The Royal Road", I guess the "El Camino" part is the designation
Lake Hills Connector (Conn), Bellevue, WA
Sauk Trail, Chicago south suburbs
There is a unique Texas state highway, which is not designated by a route number, but as "State Highway OSR", which stands fo5 "Old Saan Antonio Road". It's 6o miles long, and is a modern highway, just like any other.
Florida's "A1A" also has a unique number designation. It may be the busiest non-interstate in Florida.
Local vernacular also varies, like "The Five" in California. At St. Louis, US-40 changes from "40 Highway" in Missouri to "Highway 40" in Illinois.
Post Alley
Pike Place (where Pike Street turns north at the Market, hence the Market's name)
