Yes, this is all accurate. Hartford and CT's strengths are in the suburbs.

Providence for a recent young grad and then make a move to Hartford. I do know 2 people personally who at some point have commuted from Providence to Boston for work.

Id say a place like Stacyville ME. Its just off I-95 between Bangor and Canada. Its not near any big city. There is only other small communities, flora, and fauna around. Probably not many amenities except Walmart. The population is aging fast, and not many people are moving in. The job market is also equally as poor. No big companies, labor supply likely greater than demand. The dating scene is non-existent.

Id cant think of a better place for recent college grads.
