So for DC I tried to fill up a list from each option and see who's the obviously most famous, I added one for news/sports casters because it was bumping into my media/entertainment choice:
*Business- Bezos has an address here, but obviously won't claim him locally, gonna have to think on this
*Education- top Black professors Dr. Michael Eric Dyson or Howard Univ. professor Nikole Hanna Jones (author of the 1619 project), but I believe she still has an address in Brooklyn, so not sure on her.
*The Sciences- Dr. Anthony Fauci
*Philanthropy or Altruism- Jose Andres (posting him in two places here)
*Entertainment & Media- Maybe Sheila Johnson co-founder of BET owner of the Mystics WNBA franchise,
or Cathy Hughes founder of Radio/TV one (the largest Black owned broadcasting company in the US).
* News/sports casters Tony Kornheiser, Wolf Blitzer, Scott Van Pelt, idk who to pick
*The Arts(Define that how you like)- DC has a ton of comedians, but they don't live here now
*Sporting or Athleticism- Alex Ovechkin
*Fashion & Apparel- Not sure of who applies here
*Environment & Nature- Not sure of who applies here
*Political Engagement- The Obamas
*Gastronomy- Jose Andres
I'll add another on everybody's Sh* list Dan Snyder as most hated, but he technically could fit in one of the above criteria. Ultimately, my original answer to the OP sticks and I would pick Barack Obama.

It feels weird to say J Cole, because he seems pretty evenly hated and beloved. So I guess the Holderness Family, the YouTube stars who won the Amazing Race lol, would be the pick for the Triangle. They are least meet the social media criteria.
A lot of these people are hated though way more than J Cole . Nikole Hannah Jones / Fauci etc are hated by as many people as they are admired. Those are worse than picking like Mark Wahlberg for Boston
idk who would actually work though there are so many celebrities from Boston but none of them actually live there. Dave Portnoy could be a contender but he's pretty hated also

Yes, and that was the point of the thread, people whose likability transend all subgroups, political, racial, socio-economic, etc. People that quite literally nearly everyone likes.
We can all point to people that have done great things in the eyes of some, but are resoundingly hated by an entirely different group of people---Dr Fauci is a perfect example.
It seems like pro athletes bring people together...
Leland Melvin. Astronaut who flew two missions on the Space Shuttle Atlantis and has been featured on numerous Nat Geo space documentaries. Quite the amazing and inspiring person who travels around a lot giving fantastic lectures. The largest room at the Lynchburg Museum is devoted to him. he is also the only person drafted into the National Football League to have flown in space.

there are a bunch of athletes and entertainers from here (The Rock, DWade, Alonzo, etc) and / or live here (Jeter, Pharrell—though not associated with Miami) but hard to keep track of who lives here full time….also, a bunch of others whose claim to fame was from decades ago v present day….and definitely not Arod, lol.
