Heat is set to 71 during the day and 67 at night during winter. I don’t have air conditioning so I don’t set any temperatures during the summer months.
I don't know how to answer based on your criteria. We have a 4 season climate: hot summers with daily highs typically 90-100, and cold winters that never reach 60. We leave our thermostat at 70 year round.
I guess D.C. would be a 'mild' climate by these criteria. I have my HVAC set to 72 in winter during the day (70 at night) and 75 in summer (72 at night).
I keep my thermostat at 70ºF in the winter, though I turn it down to 65ºF at night since it's better for sleep. I live in a south-facing high rise apartment with floor-to-ceiling windows, so I sometimes even have to open my windows in the dead of winter if the sun is shining.
Cool to cold climate. Thermostat only relevant from sometime in November to about April 1. Usually 58 during day. Less at night. Rarely, if I happen to feel chilly, I might go to 62.Currently 59. Turned it down a bit. April to October it is just whatever naturally.
We live in the Bay Area (East Bay), it would be classified as a mild climate. Though this week, it has been unseasonably cold. Current high is 47 degrees F, which is about 8 degrees below normal daytime temperatures. Snow can be seen in the local hills.
Our thermostat is set for 64 degrees F, any higher and the house would get a bit too stuffy.
San Francisco would be a cool climate, and my roommates and I keep it at 68ish on average, depending on the season. Our apartment is pretty warm, so this past summer, even with the thermostat at like 63, I was hot and had to keep the window open to sleep.
I avoid AC. When it is around 100 every day, it gets turned on when mid-80s inside, around 1 pm. Then off at night, I never sleep with AC. In trpical humidity, it rarely goes over 92, and fans are enough.

Is that C or F? At 64-F, I **** on snow pants and fur-lined boots. In the tropics, I lived without AC where it has never gone that low in recorded history.
