I'm a 4 seasons guy so both. I've always loved the seasonal changes as harsh as those may be at times.

At the Outer Banks, you can get the best of both worlds over the water. I prefer sunsets though.

Eye of the beholder. I've marveled at western desert sunsets and sunrises over the Atlantic just the same and couldn't tell you what is more beautiful since they're both spectacular. That said, I'm generally wired to be an early riser and I do appreciate early sunrises as they really are motivating. It's nice to see more daylight and the sun higher in the sky as we approach the coming equinox.

I would rather come home to daylight than darkness in the winter, especially after working indoors all day.

In the summer where I live it is not usually excessively hot, so sleeping through early morning sunlight (sunrise is at 530 am) seems like a waste of sunshine. Better to shift the clock to have longer evening sunshine.

I once worked for a company that had "summer hours" that shifted starting time earlier so that people could take advantage of more sunshine.

For me early morning is the best time of the day, and more enjoyable if it's light. I get up at 4am on weekdays, and usually by 6am on weekends. Here on the shortest winter days it's dark when I go to work and dark shortly after I get home. Sunrise will be as late as 7:57am, then sunset as early as 4:17pm. Sun is not an issue with our rain and overcast from October-June, but it would be nice to have it light earlier.

I prefer sunlight longer into the day/evening/night.

While I don’t like morning darkness either, much of my outdoor activities are late afternoon, early evening, night time.

Idealistically I can rise no earlier than 7am to sunlight, and, have a nice long warm (80 degrees) day of sunlight, later evening sunset, and just enough overnight rain consistently here and there to keep everything green.

That doesn’t seem like too much to ask year round, lol. But that’s what I like and prefer.

Early sunrise, for sure. And I hate that we are already switching back to Daylight Savings.
