I took these pictures today. Blue sky, decent weather, at least for January. These were all in Peoria, East Peoria, Peoria Heights, depending on how specific you want to be.

Wow, Peoria has a skyline?!?!?

Thanks for the pics!

For some reason this forum doesn't have many pics but I've seen tons on other sites. I won't mention the names because I think they're seen as competitors and I don't want to harm city-data. I like this site because it's smaller than the one I'm thinking of and I get overwhelmed at their site. For example, in that "other forum" there is a thread about development in Austin that has 78 pages and probably a few hundred large pictures. I have no idea how the site owners can afford to pay for all that bandwidth.

Sorry about the heading on the pic. I can't edit it (or don't know how). Obviously this is a pic from NH (white mountain area). Taken in May

The downtown area, and East Peoria, has changed dramaticaly these past few years. Lots of new stuff. Crime seems to be up as well though. The actual numbers may not be up, but I'm not sure. I don't pay attention. I find if I stop watching the news and reading the paper crime seems to go down. The only demographics I'm concerned with our mine! I enjoy many things within the Peoria area.

Default Traffic

Oh, and traffic has improved with the new interstate. This was the largest downstate interstate modernization project ever for Illinois.

I've been having an "itch" to visit ChicagoLand this year at some point to eat up my vacation time; perhaps a pit stop in Peoria is in order? I was truly impressed by the beautiful skyline; the city looks like it is certainly rebounding quite a bit, just like Scranton and many other "Rust-Belt" cities. Nice photos!

Also, I've posted quite a number of photos on the PA forum for towns such as Scranton, Honesdale, Tunkhannock, Back Mountain, Mountain Top, and soon-to-be Wilkes-Barre as well. Feel free to check them out whenever you wish---Most threads start with "Northeastern Pennsylvania Photo Tour" in case you wanted to do a search for a few.
