It's by far the largest city on the warm gulf coast, so that's no big surprise there.

Phoenix and Vegas are the cities I am doubting.
I guess air conditioning may contribute to their success, but I would think the drier climate would tamper their growth.

Washington, Baltimore and Philadelphia should definitely be higher than Vegas and Phoenix.

DC, Baltimore, and Philly are probably more infested by rats (like NYC) than roaches.

Otherwise, yeah, Houston area does NOT surprised me at all. Roaches like hot and humid weather.

Probably so, but I would imagine a roach would fancy the mid Atlantic more than the Southwest.

Miami is just as humid plus it's warmer & wetter, so I won't say I'm surprised Houston tops the list, but I think some other factors may be working against it. Maybe the extra forested areas or that it's a bit older of a city with more dated infrastructure

I finally read the article.

It is wholly based on where ONE company directs more orders for pest control. THAT'S IT.

Its no where close to being a scientific poll.
It may be that in some cities a lot of people don't go through that company while cities high on that poll use that company frequently.

It says that the study shows that 37% of homes were infested with roaches but how would they know that if they only go to homes when people call for pest control?

This is the least scientific study I have seen posted on here in a while. I wouldn't even call it click bait and after reading it I wouldn't be duped into making a thread about it.

OP maybe spend an extra minute to get articles before posting. This is clearly BS

Boston needs to be up higher on that list. A lot of the apartments are prewar buildings (with some being over 100 years old). It's a rare one that isn't infested with roaches. Also, these days, bedbugs are a big problem, too.

I can't take this list seriously if neither New Orleans or Memphis are on there. I was going to say they're probably too small, but then I see Rochester...

I don't think I saw a roach the whole time living in Memphis.

Roaches and nasty bugs like hot warm humid weather. The top ten cities is no surprise.
