Choose a city (or two, or however many you want) from the list and give them compliments.
Some frequently-ignored cities:
-Salt Lake City
-Savannah (GA)
Might have missed some. I just worked my way across the map.
How did these two make the list? They're crawling with tourists...Savannah could use a few less, IMO.
I'll brag about my home town then: Charleston, West Virginia.
Charleston, WV is the Capital of the state with an intown population of around 55,000 people. The Capital building there was also designed by the same man who did the one in DC (little known fact). Sits on the Kanawha River in a valley surrounded by mountains. There are a few main street shop/dine areas downtown lined with trees and a major shopping mall downtown, as well as a convention center and a handful of hotels.
Overall it's seen as somewhat "sleepy" because it's 3+ hours away from larger cities like Pittsburgh, Columbus, etc., and not a "day trip", so they don't get tourists coming in for the day. One of those places where at 5pm downtown pretty much dries up. Still, it's a nice town to look around in for a while if you're passing through.
I'm not quite sure what that means, but these threads are just intended to make things friendlier around here. Lately, people have seemed snippy, repetivive in their advice, and prone to bashing. I just thought that threads requiring people to be positive would be refreshing.
I take the train from Philadelphia (The Cardinal) to Huntington, WV, and it's a wonderful scenic trip, through the rolling hills of VA, and when I get to Clifton Forge I know I'm crossing the artificial separation of The Virginias and entering West Virginia, White Sulphur Springs, the lost town of Thurmond, through the lovely (but run-down) Victorian station at Hinton, down the New River Gorge and on to the golden dome of Charleston. And then my crazy relatives at the station in Huntington. Good times.

PC = politically correct. My comment was just meant to lighten things up even more.
