Mostly Vons (Safeway) for convenience. Also Henry's (specialty/organic type store) since they have a better selection of some things.
Which Henry's do you shop at? Are you talking about the old Boney's, or was it Henry's then Boney's? I always shopped at the ones in La Mesa and Santee! My mom was telling me though that they have since changed their names?
Me too. That and a Trader Joe's would be nice. My first exposure to Wegman's was in NJ actually, in Manalapan. For now Whole Foods and Publix will have to do.
Kroger, I like some of the Kroger brand food, really good prices on some things, good selection of fruits & vegetables, I like the layout of the store, I don't have to park 15 miles away, gas savings - even if it is just 10 cents off a gallon.
I used to work at whole foods. awesome but waaay too expensive for average shopping, a good place to get meat and produce but I wouldn't bother for packaged stuff. I'm 20 and at school I usually just shop at the NSLC* but at home my mom goes to Market Basket or Stop and Shop and goes to a local farm stand for certain things (again- meat and produce mostly). Another one that should be on the list: Johnny Foodmastahhh
I go to Kroger, Tom Thumb, Albertson's, and SuperTarget when I do my general grocery shopping. If I wanted to get anything special, I pay a visit to Central Market (H E B), and I'm waiting for a new Market Street (United) to open near my apartment.

The employees here joke and call it "whole paycheck". I try to balance it out with the regular grocery store and buy certain items there or just a few splugre items. Most of my produce, meats and grains though I eat organic and unfortunately, this area sucks for local produce and we have no farmstands or farmers markets, which leaves me with Whole Foods as my only option. I can get away with some staple stuff at Publix (Florida chain). Publix actually just opened a new store called "Greenwise Market", which seems to be like a cross between Whole Foods and Wegmans, and the prices were a little better. Too bad it's a half hour away.
I mostly shop for groceries at HyVee...They have about 200 stores in the Upper Midwest... Occasionally I will shop at Walmart, but like others have said, I will NEVER buy meat from them!
