I like your comparisons, for the most part. However, don't insult Madrid with San Diego(vanilla city). Also, don't insult Naples(or any city) with Detroit(cultureless). The other comparisons I like.

With the exception of the first two, these make no sense to me. Los Angeles and Milan? The two cities have almost nothing in common. Milan and New York are fashion capitals, but Milan isn't nearly as big as NYC. San Francisco and Istanbul? No comparison there at all. Miami and Madrid both start with "M" and both have a lot of Spanish-speakers, but so do a lot of other US cities. San Diego and Madrid have nothing in common. Neither do Detroit and Naples.
