Sorry, Omaha's not growing very fast. Even in its own region it's not growing very quickly. Des Moines and Kansas City are growing faster than Omaha. But Omaha is growing faster than Detroit. But I still think there's more to do in Detroit than Omaha although I'd probably rather be stranded in Omaha for a long weekend than Detroit.
And as for Des Moines, both Omaha and Des Moines are growing close to the same numerical rates, Des Moines has grown by 65,205, Omaha has grown by 62,849. As for Kansas City, it added 8 counties in 2003 to its metro.

Do you understand that in terms of percentage, Des Moines is growing much faster than Omaha? Not that it matters, and I do not want get into another one of your irrational slapfighights. Why can't you Omaha folks tone it down? Good Lord, have you nothing better to do with your time? Is Omaha THAT boring that you have to spend all your time whining about Omaha on a messageboard?
Joslyn Art Museum, Holland Performing arts center, Omaha Botanical Gardens, Memorial Park, the lakes, Heartland of America Park, the malls, restaurants, a terrible amusement park, the SAC Museum, Offut Air Force Base, the continuous Bike Path throughout the city, the Mormon Cemetery, etc.
It's been about 3 months since we were last in Omaha visiting family/checking up on our house. What is the "terrible amusement park"? Not Fun-Plex, right? Because people who are thinking of amusement parks in terms of this poll would not consider Fun-Plex an actual amusement park. Just checking - hadn't heard there was a new park there and I do talk to my family and friends from there 2 or 3 times a week, but maybe they just haven't mentioned a new park if there is one?
I also don't know if folks would consider the Strategic Air and Space Museum to actually count towards Omaha's amusement options since it isn't really in Omaha - it's on the highway between Omaha and Lincoln. That would be like me saying going to Schlitterbahn, tubing on the river, touring the caves of Natural Bridge Caverns, or boating on Canyon Lake are amusement options in San Antonio when they are actually in or near New Braunfels (about the same distance from S.A. to New Braunfels as from Omaha to Ashland, where the museum is located). I would say those are among the myriad of choices very near to San Antonio, but I would not list them as options within San Antonio itself.
I agree that at least some of the items on your list(s) are sources of amusement... but when people look at the list of cities on the poll and think of the amusement options in each city (number, type, and variety of options), Omaha does have the potential to fall short. Like all of the polls, it is based on personal opinion. You feel that Omaha has better (or at least as good as) amusement possibilities than other cities on this list; other people may not feel this is true. I will admit that I have not been to every single city on the list (have not been to Miami, San Francisco, or Honolulu) so I cannot compare Omaha to those.
I would say Omaha. If most of its residents dwell on an online relocation forum trying to reassure themselves that their city is a great place to live, then obviously there must not be anything more "fun" to do! LOL!
Omg finally someone realizes what goes on in this forum. The people of Omaha cannot go a minute without posting something about how great their city is and how it's on par with Chicago and New York. I'm sure Omaha is a nice city but come on at the end of the day it's just a small midwestern city lacking in diversity, job oppertunities, and entertainment. Not to mention culture or history or public transportation. Oh and for the record Omaha is has the same amount of people as Staten Island which gives you an idea how small the city is.
Blarg - off topic - what good does an ignore list do if I can still see that Go Ne posted something? I want to ignore, as in, not be aware that he is here at all. *sigh*
On topic - Detroit is entertaining, Greektown, the casinos, Henry Ford Museum. Good times...
I would say Omaha dont even compete with the rest, its just a baby still.
2nd I would say Phoenix, other than sports there really isnt that much there and by the time you drive from one end of the city to the other and find something to do almost your whole day is gone, there is really no point in going to Phoenix.
What? That last paragraph doesn't make sense to me. Phoenix has a small amusement park near one of its malls. It has a TON of malls, restaurants, bars, glitzy everything. There's not a shortage of anything "to do" in Phoenix, other than a six flags park or disney-caliber park. Phoenix has so much to do--it knocks the socks off most cities.

We have plenty of job opportunities, and I have no intention to list them because of the annoyance.

A small amusement park doesnt make it a fun city. Several smaller cities in this country have amusement parks that blow PHX's out of the water. Malls? What big city doesnt have them??? Restaurants? PHX's restaurants suck compared to most large cities, same goes for the bars... And whats "glitzy" in PHX? Most of the glitzy stuff is found OUTSIDE Phoenix. Seriously, for its size, I also find PHX somewhat lacking in the amusement department.

I tottally agree, I find Phoenix lacking in everything but shopping and big box stores and their amusment park is about the same size as ours in Abq, and ours is small. I find no reason to leave Abq to go to Phoenix, I would rather go to Denver any day.
For Phoenix being the 4th or 5th largest city in the country it could really do something better with itself but if it did it would all be fake cause the town just looks so fake to begin with, like it has no history and culture and no uniqueness to it, nothing that catches the eye.
In a place like New Orleans or Boston you dont have to go eat at a Applebees and go to the mall to have fun like in Phoenix, there is so much more to see and do.
