I only lived in Queens for hardly a year right after I was born there, but I don't see anybody doing it so I guess I'll put it up.

You know you're from Queens when...
You know your neighborhood's going down hill when a Hindu family moves in, and they have 8 families living in the same house

You or someone you know knows JOHN GOTTI

Cherry Valley is the best place on earth

You always see someone "doing it" in their car at Astoria Park when they're teenagers or climbing the bridge when they were younger

The neighborhood you come from is known by the nationality of the people that live there: Astoria, Greek; Woodside, Irish & Italian; Richmond Hill, "Little Guyana"; Rego Park/Forest Hills, Jewish

Jamaica's a scary neighborhood to walk in once the sun goes down

Beach 116 St. is the only section of Rockaway Beach to go to......ABSOLUTELY!!

It's all about "DRAMA" for Queens kids

Queens Blvd. is a great place to witness a hit and run

Getting a Hooker at Queensbridge only involves having $5 and a rubber

Two fair zones are considered the "good" neighborhoods

The noises of airplanes and trucks put you to sleep

You think that the best pizzeria is the one you've been going to since you were little and nobody can tell you different

You know the difference between a Bodega and a Deli... The bodega's the one that sells you alcohol w/o ID at 4 AM

Corona Ice King has the best Italian ice in the world

You think that Brooklyn and Long Island are so far away

Your neighborhood was really good 10 years ago but now just "your side" is still good

Tanning salons are a must

NEVER drive on Main Street, Flushing

You can't understand why they put that big Green Citibank bldg. in Long
Island City it sticks out like a saw thumb

You are proud not to be as ghetto as Brooklyn but not as stuck up as The Island.

There are so many places to learn English yet the majority of people in Queens don't speak English.

You are the most diverse county in the world

The majority of kids who go clubbin are from Queens

Glendale consists of more dead people than alive

There is something always under construction

Everyone thinks they're better than everyone else depending on the neighborhood you come from

You've been/almost were in an accident with a cabbie at least once

You know you're the best and that's all that matters

That's true but the same can be said for Philly and the Declaration of Independence. Without the signing, there would be no declared independence. No 4th of July.

Touche. I really think Both cities deserve credit (Philly in a slightly more literal way but Boston equally important)

Hey, I'm from PA (though not Philly). We don't get much respect among the original 13! Just giving credit where credit is due.

14. You know how to pronounce the names of towns like Worcester, Billerica, Gloucester, and Haverhill.
I heard some Christian radio host try to pronounce Gloucester recently. It ended up something in the vicinity of Gl-oww-chester, it hurt my heart.

12. Springfield is located "way out west."
Or as we used to do, refer to anything west of 128 as "way out west"

6. You do not recognize the letter "R" as a part of the English language.
But your Grandma thinks there's an R on the end of "soda".

102. If you have a friend or relative who does a wicked good rendition of Dean's "I doubt it"
103. If you loved Patriots Day because it's the first day of April vacation
104. If you go to the Super 8 and you don't mean the motel
105. If you remember tattoo parlors being illegal

You know your from Fort Worth when....

- You wear a coat in easter and you still wear shorts in mid November.
- It's a habbit for you to explain that "We're not apart of Dallas".
- You know your city has over 702,00 residents, and you STILL feel it's smaller than it realy is.....
- You know the TCU Horned Frogs are the closest to an NFL team the city will ever have.
- You get a little excited and grin when the city is mentioned on tv, movie, or radio.... without Dallas.
- a longhorn or panther is your favorite animal.
- You want to by a black and white Dodge Charger that looks exactly like the police cars....
- you think one inch of snow is "too much"
- take a little more pride in cowboys, history, and old, early 20th century buildings
- you get robbed and end up shooting the guys who robbed you.....

Top signs you're in South Central Kentucky

1. You can't find a tow truck driver until the NASCAR race is over (this actually happened to me a couple years ago)

2. Your county's highest ratied tv shows are Monster Trucks or Bull Riding

3. Upper Middle class = double wide trailer
Lower Middle class = single wide trailer

4. If you've ever been in a "Trouse" (a trailer that's been added on to, ei trailer-house)

5. Your house has as many mounted deer heads on the walls as pictures

You know you're from Philadelphia or just PA when. . .

1.You refer to Pennsylvania as "PA" (pronounced Pee-Ay).

2.
You realize that your favorite dessert is wooder ice. (It comes in churry, strawburry, and other assorted flavors.)

3. Words like "hoagie", "sticky buns", "shoo-fly pie", "pierogies" and "water ice" actually mean something to you.

4.
You know what a township, borough, and commonwealth is.

5. You've never referred to Philadelphia as anything but "Philly." And New Jersey has always been "Jersey," and the Atlantic Ocean as "the shore."

6.
The local paper covers National and International headlines on 1/4 page but requires six pages for sports.

7.
You visit New York and notice how clean it is.

8.
You buy soft pretzels at a traffic light.

9.
Your parents, brothers, sisters, aunts and uncles all live on the same block. (or did until they all moved the hell out of there)

A few small corrections for Pittsburgh.

2. You eat "frozen custard" instead of "soft ice cream" like the rest of the country.

3. You drink "Ahrn" if you're over 21 (Iron City Beer), eat chipped ham, and jumbo (baloney).

4.

5. You've never referred to Philadelphia as anything but "Philly." And New Jersey has always been "Jersey," and the Atlantic Ocean as "the shore." Pittsburgh is "the Burgh" and you know it has an "H" on the end. Ah-hi-O (Ohio) is a few miles away.
