yes i have, i find it exciting. i'd love to get one of my own but it's just not practical where i live. there are alot of scary drivers out there and i just don't feel safe on a scooter around those nut jobs
I too would love to get a moped but I think I'd worry too much about "the other guy". You're way too vulnerable on a moped. Maybe if I lived in a bigger city and I never used highways where big semis roam!
Am I the only one who didn't even know they still made mopeds,lol...honestly, I never see them. Growing up, early 80's I remember them mostly being driven by Asian males collecting aluminum cans.
I have noticed more on the streets. I live near a college so am used to seeing hip young people on them, but I'm noticing more and more middle-aged folks driving them now.
And in Dallas, it's risky because boy do Texans love their SUVs and big ole pickups! I see these teeny scooters being tailgated by monster sized vehicles or, heck, ANY sized car and I feel so frightened for the scooter riders. Envious of their gas bill, but frightened nonetheless. I try and give them lots of room and to remember some of these smaller models cannot get to 40 mph immediately after a redlight turns green. That's practically a honk-worthy offense. I think it annoys some people that a slightly gentler mode of transport even exists, let alone that you must share the street with them. Sad, because the scooterists I see are quite courteous.
Just curious, but are the prices of scooters going up considerably since demand is higher? Or have prices remained very affordable?
