What should the minimum wage be? (apartment, wages, living in)

What in your opinion is a livable wage for your region? In you opinion what are the minimum necessaries for a comfortable standard of living?
I believe the following are necessary necessities for a married family of four:
Federal Income Tax State Income Tax Social Security. Health Insurance Life Insurance Car Insurance Property Insurance, Renter Insurance Transportation Costs (Car, License Plates, Bus, Train, Etc) Housing (Rent, Ownership, Homeowners Association, Maintenance, Property Tax) Clothing Food (Dining in/out) Utilities (Telephone, Electricity, Natural Gas, Water, Sewer, Cable) Miscellaneous (Entertainment, Vacation, Movies) Savings (Rainy Day Fund, Retirement, College Education) Child Care

Minimum wage is +/- $7 per hour, times 40 hours equals $14,560 annually. Say the spouse also works and makes another $14,560 annually. That is $29,120 annually. That is barely sufficient to cover housing and food. Could you live on $29,120 annually?
If you had to make a decision what would you cut from the list? Health Insurance, Life Insurance, Savings, Miscellaneous would be relatively easy. But is that a good responsible decision? What would you cut after those items, and make it through the month?
Depending on the region you live in, what would you consider a livable wage in today environment? What should the minimum wage be?
There should be no minimum wage. The free market will protect us all. Glory Be! Hallelujah!
I personally believe that anyone who works hard should earn enough money to afford at least a baseline living in the area in which he/she lives. The government should not step in unless this one criteria is not met.
Well, in a free economy you'd be free to go work somewhere else if your needs were not being met.
In fact, you're free to do that even now.
I was just being my usual facetious self though (obviously)... but this is a line of argument from some people.
What I find odd is that business, like water, finds a way to occupy the lowest area.
In this case, the states that have their minimum wage exactly at the Federal minimum, and not a penny more, get more business investments.
And the states that seem to have a reasonable minimum wage are punished.
Same thing with homeless rights and etc etc.
This happens, in a larger scale, throughout the world with cheap foreign labor draining the 'good' jobs from America.
And anti-union death squads (um, trained by America) insuring that cheap labor for generations to come.
Well, in a free economy you'd be free to go work somewhere else if your needs were not being met.
In fact, you're free to do that even now.
Well, if the standard of living is too expensive for, say, gardeners, and all the gardeners move away, you're going to have an area with no gardeners!
But then of course people will be unhappy about their unkept gardens and would become willing to pay more money for gardeners until more gardeners moved to the area and thus fix the problem. Of course, this is idealistic, and it doesn't always happen.
Lol, wonder what that would do to the job market and economy. That is outrages, why not make it 200 and hour and make everyone wealthy?
its outrageous...
and its better than grown men and women making 7 something an hour. its better than single moms struggling to make ends meet.
why should the top make most of the money and everybody else suffer? these guys ride around in 300k cars and fly in private jets, meanwhile ppl like us take the train to work and can barely afford that.
the cost of living has raised over the years but min wage takes forever to raise. its not right.
