The list is probably a good top ten list, although the order could be questioned.

They don't hand out journalist jobs to just anyone

Would consider which urban regions have greatest nos. of smart, wealthy people....lots of wealthy people aren't very bright....trust funds, $100+/barrel oil, etc

Would argue greatest nos. of smart/wealthy guys live and work in Manhattan, SiliconValley, Greenwich, BeverlyHills, Chicago and London....

Manhattan/SV/Greenwich are notably more powerful than BH, Chic and Lond....simply many more high-IQ guys in NYC and SV regions...and these regions continually attract the smartest grads from Wharton/Harvard/Stanford/Princeton to the hedge fund and tech industries....

We're talking about Forbes here, the same resource that called Scranton one of the nation's most rapidly dying cities. I wouldn't give much credence to anything they say anymore, since they relied upon outdated stereotypes when analyzing us, indicating that they didn't research their selections very well.

Then again Forbes is a top buisness magazine, must have some truth to it.

Wow on Wikipedia Philadelphia ranks 9th in the World and 5th in North America. That is far better than I would have predicted but that is really great.
