What Happened to this Forum?

Here's what I would like to see: a special, invitation-only forum that would be a true community. To be invited, you'd have to have a significant number of thoughtful, informative or just plain intelligent posts on c-d. You'd have to have a track record of respectful, non-hostile interaction with the other posters. Trolls, drive-by posters, repetitive posters, dumb-forum creating posters would not be invited, etc... You get the idea.

This is how I dicovered this site; I Googled some junk down that was I needed information on and it kept bringing me to City-Data, that's why you see old forums pulling a Michael Myers on us. One topic that will never die is the "What is Maryland" type threads and that is legit; I googled it for my US Hist 1 class and was brought to City-Data. Stay sane MD people.
