So, apparently it's not unheard of for hospitals to provide moderate duration emergency care at the cost of >$1million per patient, all while letting patients with kidney, heart problems and other long term issues who are unable to pay for continuing care die away?

What makes some gangbangers that shoot eachother worthy of rendering >$1million in emergency care at the expense of many other patients who don't engage in reckless gang lifestyle not being able to receive care?
People are marrying/divorcing, dying, losing assets over being able to get treatment. All this, but the government has the money to provide emergency care at the expense of >$1million to ONE person? That's absurd.
