That's awesome! I was just reading that one of the reasons Albuquerque actually exists today as a city is that its historic and extensive streetcar system in the 1900's drew in more people as an asset than its larger main competitor city of Bernalillo could in central New Mexico.

Yea, Albuquerque was a railroad and a streetcar town back in the days, i wish they would have kept the streetcar running but in the 50's and 60's everyone forgot about the downtown and thats when albuquerque had spread out..

Towns of 2,000 people had trolly systems in Pennsylvania. Back in the late 1800s to early 1920s there was a line that ran from Tower City PA, through Williamstown PA, and out to Lykens PA. The Philadelphia & Reading Railroad also ran passenger trains between these communities. Ashland, Centralia, and Pottsville all had a street car system too. Pottsville's was the largest in Schuylkill County PA.
