California State Capital in Sacramento, CA
-A little small in my opinion for the most populous state, but it is an attractive building.
The Governor's Mansion in Sacramento. No governor has actually lived in the official residence since Reagan left in in 1967. I assume they don't want to live in such an old home.
Schwarzenegger's choice was to remain in his 11,000 square foot estate in the Brentwood neighborhood of Los Angeles so his children didn't have to move. When he is in Sacramento, he has a suite at the Hyatt Regency near the capital and gets there by private jet.
Massachusetts has no official governor's residence.
The New Hampshire state house is the oldest state capitol building in which legislators still meet in the original chambers; and, amazingly, the state legislature is the fourth-largest legislative body in the English-speaking world (424 members; about 1 per 3,000 citizens):
The official governor's residence of NH is the modest Bridges House, although the current governor doesn't live there. I do like the added touch of the state tree, paper birches, in the yard:
The Massachusetts capitol building is one of the only ones outside of Iowa I think I could identify on sight. Probably because I watched The Departed about 12 times...
Oregon State Capital: (Art Deco, marble exterior, Douglas-fir, the state tree, in the background)

Mahonia Hall: (Governor's residence in Salem, current Gov and his family reside here, named after state flower, Mahonia aquifolium, the Oregon-grape)
