Wait a second. The double thread got deleted, but the one that actually had the content got deleted. That's a little silly.

Anyways, the thread said:

I'm planning to move in about 2 years. When did you start planning your move seriously? When did it start to consume you so that you were doing a lot of research and talking about relocation constantly? I've hit that point and still have 2 years to go. Keep planning, or fight the urges?

Sorry, but you are a "Looooooooooooooser"

As for myself, I cannot relocate until I retire, which is in exactly forty (40) months and a wake up. I have been seriously researching this for six (6) months already (this is how I found city-data.com) which means I'll have researched this for a total of four (4) years by the time I can retire. So your paltry two (2) year research certainly cannot be enough!

So in essence, for you to lose the "Loser" moniker I think you should double you research so you'll, in theory, have four years of research like me.

As far as talking about it constantly, I inform my co-workers each day of how long I have until I retire. Which tomorrow will be 39 months and 30 days. However, there are rumors that my department may be revising our retirement plan, for the better, in the near future. If this happens I will be gone the next day!

I found this site a while back while doing my planning too. I still don't have an exact plan but have been planning for about a year. I guess that makes me a loser as well.
Like many people I'm looking for the perfect place. We'll go on vacation during spring to check a few places. Maybe we'll find the right one.

OMG I have been considering relocating out of state for...I think 5 years. I started seriously researching places 2-3 years ago. A year ago, my husband and I narrowed things down to 2 places. We spent some time at each place and narrowed it down to 1 this past autumn. We are going to move this July/August.
Plan, but keep it to yourself...you will only drive everyone else nuts if you talk about it a lot. Trust me, I know! You can always post here to talk about it.

Oh good. I'll just keep the research going for the next 2 years and hopefully, time will fly.
