There isn't a single city out there with a rather large population and at least 80% whites, or so it appears. I know a few decades ago this was completely different. So what the hell happened? It's as if the US government relocated all the minorities to large cities, blacks especially.

Hate to bring this up, but the ironic thing about it are that these cities listed with a low black population are cities where (from my experiences and word-of-mouth) hard working, intellectual, and normal blacks would face the least racial animosity from non-blacks; cities that I'm strongly considering to move into once I graduate from college. I'm surprised that these cities aren't experiencing even a moderate migration of well-to-do and assimilated blacks into them (or maybe it's just being overshadowed by the "South Migration" hype).

Portland, OR 77.91%
Seattle, WA 67.1%
Sacramento, CA 48.29%
Austin, TX 65.36%
Albuquerque, NM 71.59%
Phoenix, AZ 71.1%

And these are the 2000 statistics for the white population. The truth of the matter is, there is not a single city in the US where there is a white population of over 80%. By 2010, there probably won't be a single one with even 70%. Now answer my question.

Have you ever heard of white flight? It sounds like you are unfamiliar with American history, the answer to your question is white flight. It is a pretty simple concept to anyone who knows something about recent American history, and has nothing to do with the US government actively relocating minorities.

The more important question to ask is why are there so few whites in many large American cities. The answer to that question pretty much explains the last 50 years of urban American history.

With all due respect try and read a American History book of the events that happened in the last 65 years to today.

^ exactly. Lots of racial profiling went into the big move to the suburbs during the 50's and onwards. While it might not be as huge an issue today, the seeds have been planted and things are still pretty evident today.

Not to mention the suburbs where a majority of whites live are generally more expensive as far as housing than the inner cities. Because of poor education and social issues on all sides, minorities tend to have a lower standard on living in general compared to whites in this country.

It's easier for a white person to have a good education and a high paying job to afford a nice house in the suburbs than a minority who has dealt with generations of trying to break out of the pack, as well as lingering anxiety among whites and the self destructive aspects that have grown in many black neighborhoods within cities.

Just look at the last half of the 20th century and things become evident.

That trend is reversing- whites are moving in, blacks are moving out.
